Earney now Ellsworth’s all-time leading scorer

Autumn Earney is now the all-time scoring leader at Ellsworth High School after she scored 18 points in a 60-51 loss to Somerset to surpass the previous mark of 1,358 points set in 1996 by Charysse Minder.
The 5-8 guard is averaging 12.3 points per game with 4.2 records and 2.7 steals. Ellsworth has a 6-7 mark in the Middle Border Conference and is 8-8 overall this year.
Prairie Farm with a 14-2 season record leads the Lakeland Central with an 8-0 mark and is ranked No. 2 in Division 5 according to the latest Wisconsin Sports Network. Northwood at 13-3 and just behind Prairie Farm in the conference, is No. 6 in the same rankings. Black Hawk at 17-0 was ranked No. 1.
In Division Three, St. Croix Falls took the No. 6 spot with a 17-1 record.
In the Wisconsin Sports (WisSports) Network Three-Point Challenge, two area performers among the rankings in Division 5.
Prairie Farm’s Marnie Kahl is No. 4, hitting 38 of 97 three-pointers before Tuesday night’s action. Kayla Schultz of Northwood was seventh with 34 of 92 three-pointers. Leading Division 5 was Bailey Butler of Black Hawk with 52 three-pointers out of 116 attempts.
THE GIRLS Playoff pairings were released this week and several area teams got very high seeds.
DIVISION 3
In their section, Barron earned the No. 1 rank and got a first-round bye. They will play the winner of the Spooner/Cumberland game.
Also ranked No. 1 in their section was St. Croix Falls. (They play St. Croix Central).
Unity was ranked No. 2 and will play Bloomer in the first round.
DIVISION 4
No. 1-ranked Clear Lake will play the Boyceville/Grantsburg winner. No. 3-ranked Glenwood City plays No. 6 Shell Lake in the first round.
Webster got a No. 2 rank with a bye and will the winner of the Glenwood City/Shell Lake game.
DIVISION 5
The No. 1 rank went to Prairie Farm, which received a bye. They will play the Clayton/Luck winner.
No. 3-ranked Turtle Lake will take on No. 6 Frederic and the winner will play No. 2 Siren.
In the bottom half of this section, Northwood got the No. 1 rank and will take on the winner of the Birchwood vs. Lac Courte Oreilles winner.
No. 2 Flambeau gets No. 7 Cornell.
